Watched "Rock On" and it immediately got me into the nostalgic mood. (well not immediately as I watched the songs a few more times after the movie, I really like the sound track)
Got me thinking about all the wild times I used to have with my gang, wondering where the guys from our Indian fusion thrash metal band drifted off to.
Why is it that we have to leave such things behind?
Jamming with the band was so awesome, the conversations erratically swinging between deeply philosophical to absolutely banal to positively ludicrous. The music was often extempo and sometimes strictly structured but always with a whole lot of soul.
We used to be at it for hours at an end and did covers of our idols and also played our own song. We played at concerts and really rocked the crowds.
Recently I sat myself in front of a piano and realized in shock that it's not like cycling. I didn't remember anything its as if those years a decade and a half ago never happened and the grand instrument was completely alien to me.
I've decided I want to make music again and record my resolve here to make it happen.
