ZoukOut 2008

I went to Zoukout for a peek with my friend Suresh but ended up being there till 8.00 am. I am sure with the kind of crowd that was there or because of the sheer size of the do there will be a lot of media coverage of the event.

Let me just tell you about my most awesome moment there.

I think it was at about 7.15am after a whole hot claustrophobic night of great music and gyrating on the sand while being pushed about (I didn’t have the courage to go in deep towards the stage and so stayed way back where incessantly people were moving in and out) I got a chance to get onto one of the raised platforms.

I got on it and a couple of things happened simultaneously; the sky cleared up a little and it suddenly got pleasantly brighter, the wind picked up, a very light intermittent drizzle of delicious fresh raindrops started, and DJ Andrew Chow played some strains from one of my all time favorite tracks ‘Samba Di Janeiro’.

Felt like cosmic alignment.
