Hard Core

Most people find toning their abdomens challenging and I am no exception. Often the better known exercises such as sit-ups and crunches don't seem to have any benefit despite how tiresome they seem.

I find both the aforementioned exercises so boring that I have banished them from my routine. However, this dosn't mean that I've resigned myself to flabby abs.

I've been having a bit of luck with losing inches around my midriff and can also feel the hereto missing firmness in my muscles there.

I concede that the primary reasons are my regular cardiovascular routine and skipping. Skipping is probably a bit more effective than cardio there, being as it is, a well known way to tone all the core muscles.

I've found a few other exercises that seem to be helping me greatly. These are:

Bicycle: lay down with your back on the floor and pedal an imaginary bicycle in the air. for best results imagine the pedal at a point lower than your pelvis and about one and a half feet in the air.

Plank: Put you elbow on the floor below your shoulders at right angles with your chest. Make the rest of your body taut with your toes holding up the other end.

Swiss ball roll: You need a exercise ball for this one. get into the push up position with your shins on the ball. Pull your knees up to your chest till your feet are on the ball. Roll back gently and then repeat.
